Description

Nandrolone Decanoate is a long-acting anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) administered via intramuscular injection. It is the decanoate ester of nandrolone, a synthetic derivative of testosterone with reduced androgenic properties and enhanced anabolic activity. These effects support its medical use in the treatment of anemia (especially of chronic kidney disease origin) and muscle wasting associated with chronic illness such as HIV/AIDS or long-term corticosteroid use. It is compounded in a sterile oil-based vehicle suitable for deep intramuscular injection under aseptic conditions.^1,2,3,4,5,6

Mechanism of Action

Nandrolone binds to androgen receptors and stimulates anabolic activity, promoting protein synthesis and inhibiting protein catabolism. It enhances nitrogen retention in muscle tissues and stimulates erythropoiesis through increased erythropoietin production.^1,2,3,4,5,6

Adverse Reactions

Common: ^1,2,3,4,5,6

Hepatic: Elevated liver enzymes, rarely hepatotoxicity
Endocrine: Suppression of endogenous testosterone production, testicular atrophy, menstrual irregularities
Dermatologic: Acne, oily skin
Cardiovascular: Fluid retention, altered lipids (↓HDL, ↑LDL), potential for hypertension
Hematologic: Polycythemia (monitor hematocrit)
Others: Injection site pain, mood changes, libido changes

Known or suspected breast or prostate carcinoma in men
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Hypersensitivity to nandrolone, sesame oil, or other excipients
Severe hepatic dysfunction
Nephrotic syndrome with edema

Monitoring required for lipid profiles, liver function, CBC, and hormonal panels
Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular, hepatic, or renal disease
May exacerbate sleep apnea in predisposed individuals
Risk of virilization in females even at low doses
Pediatric use may cause premature epiphyseal closure

Storage

Store at controlled room temperature (20–25°C / 68–77°F).
Protect from light and excessive heat.
Do not refrigerate or freeze.
