Product Overview

Letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor (nonsteroidal), is used in postmenopausal women for breast cancer and for the treatment of advanced breast cancer. [1,2]

Letrozole binds to heme group of the cytochrome P450 subunit of the aromatase (enzyme) resulting in a reduction of estrogen (estrone, estradiol and estrone sulfate) biosynthesis in all tissues. The drug decreases estrogen levels by preventing the conversion of androgens to estrogen. [1,2]
