Product Overview

NAD+ Nasal Spray Description1-6

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD⁺) is crucial for metabolic activity (needed in over 500 enzymatic processes) in the body and in maintaining health. NAD+ is critical in energy metabolism, homeostasis in mitochondria and in cellular survival or death. In addition, NAD+ is a mediator of cellular functions including maintenance and repair of DNA. As people age, NAD+ levels decrease. Restoring NAD+ levels can improve altered metabolism, decrease disease susceptibility, and promote longevity.

The potential benefits of increasing NAD+ levels include:

  • Improved brain functioning
  • Brain protection from neurodegeneration
  • Improved blood vessel vascularization
  • Reduced hepatic steatosis
  • Improved muscle strength and pancreas functioning (increased insulin secretion)
  • Reduced inflammation

Mechanism of Action1-6

NAD+ is critical for metabolism and physiological function. It accepts electrons during metabolic reactions to become NADH (reduced form). NADH uses the electron to donate ot other molecules. This is important for ATP production in the body. This proces occurs during glycolysis, fatty acid oxidation, and the TCA cycle. There is a continuous conversion of NAD+ to NADH in cells in the body which is critical for energy flow. NAD+ is also important for sirtuin regulation (DNA repair, inflammation processes, and fat metabolism). It is a substrate for PARPs (poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases) (repair of damaged DNA), is important to prevent neurodegenerative processes.
