Product Overview

Zinc-Thymulin is an experimental topical compound consisting of zinc and thymulin, a nonapeptide originally isolated from the thymus. While thymulin alone is inactive without zinc, their combination may yield biological activity, particularly in the context of immune modulation and cell signaling. In topical applications, the compound has been explored for its potential to support healthy hair follicle function. Early preclinical and limited clinical observations suggest that zinc-thymulin may have a role in managing certain types of hair thinning or loss. [1,2,3]

Though the precise mechanisms are not fully elucidated, zinc-thymulin is thought to exert its effects through several possible pathways: [1,2,3]

  1. Modulation of Follicular Environment:

Zinc is thought to influence enzymes like 5α-reductase, which play a role in androgen-related hair loss. Thymulin may affect local immune signaling.

  1. Potential Anagen Support:

Preclinical studies have indicated a possible ability to prolong the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle, though these findings are preliminary.

  1. Anti-Inflammatory and Cell-Regulatory Activity:

Thymulin has been described in the literature as having immunomodulatory properties, which could potentially benefit inflammatory components of alopecia.

  1. Support for Hair Follicle Integrity:

Animal studies have suggested improved follicular structure and signaling, but human relevance remains to be validated.

Commonly Reported Reactions: 1,2,3
