Austin Parkes – Inside Sales Representative
What do you do at Wells Pharmacy Network (WPN)?
I am an Inside Sales Representative. I’ve been with WPN for more than a year, and I focus on selling products in the health and wellness categories.
What is the one lesson you’ve learned in the industry that has helped you most?
Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than seven years now, one of the most important things I’ve learned is how important thorough communication is! Consistent and clear communication is key to developing and maintaining great relationships with clients. And it’s just not about maintaining open communication lines. As a sales rep, it’s important to keep clients up-to-date with the latest industry news, trends, and any other pertinent information that may play a role in our relationship.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers/clients?
I really enjoy hearing from doctors about the confidence they have in Wells Pharmacy Network products. Many of the physicians I work with have chosen WPN because the quality of our formulations and medications has greatly improved the quality of life for their patients. Knowing that WPN is impacting the lives of so many in such a positive way always puts a smile on my face.
In your opinion, what value(s) do customers gain by working with WPN as opposed to competitors?
At Wells Pharmacy Network, we have a determined and devoted team that works amazingly well with one another to provide the best customer experience possible. From our dedicated customer service staff to the pharmacists that guide our physician customers through any questions they may have, the WPN team is the difference that keeps on delivering, and makes our company stand out as an industry leader.
How do you support WPN’s mission and dedication to improving the health and safety of customers’ patients?
By doing everything “by the book.” Not only am I updating my customers on any new state or federal regulations, but they can rest assured that WPN follows all CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines, to ensure our doctors have no worries when it comes to the standards we set for quality assurance.
Why are you proud to work at WPN?
I’m proud to work at Wells Pharmacy Network because what we do matters. Knowing that what I do as a member of the sales team, and collectively with other departments helps to improve the quality of life for thousands of people on a daily basis. It is both satisfying and motivating. Not many people can say what they do makes that kind of impact, but at WPN, we see it every day.
What are the biggest challenges faced by WPN and its customers in the current healthcare environment?
Without a doubt, COVID-19. The impact the pandemic has had on the healthcare industry cannot be understated. Thankfully, WPN Leadership was able to adapt quickly, despite facing some really tough obstacles. At the end of the day, we were able to overcome challenges that others could not and maintain the production and distribution of some very important medications. I don’t think there’s any question the industry will be feeling the negative effects COVID-19 has brought for some time, but there’s no doubt WPN has been able to lessen that impact for our physician customers and the patients they treat.
